Grapefruit In Brandy

- Cut off all the peel and pith from grapefruit and carefully poke out the pithy core with the little finger.
- Slice the fruit into 1-inch rounds.
- Put the sugar in large saucepan with 1/2 cup cold water and cinnamon.
- Cook over low heat, stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved, then boil for 2 minutes.
- Lower the heat.
- Add grapefruit slices.
- Poach for 6 minutes, turning once. Arrange slices on serving dish.
- Pour brandy over them and serve hot or chilled.
