Minted Pears

Ingredients

  • 2 qt. water
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 5 tsp. Schilling mint flavoring

Instructions

  1. Bring sugar and water to a boil for 5 minutes.
  2. Add mint flavoring and a generous 2 or 3 shakes of the green food coloring; mix well.
  3. Add about 9 pears which have been peeled, halved and cored.
  4. Return to boil and cook about 5 minutes, depending on variety and ripeness of pears.
