Poached Apple Slices

Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • dash of salt
  • 2 tart apples

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar, water and dash of salt.
  2. Simmer 5 minutes. Meanwhile, core the apples and cut in 1/2-inch slices. Leave bright peel on. Drop into sugar syrup and cook gently until tender. Remove from heat.
  3. Let apple slices cool in syrup to plump. Drain. Use as trim.
