Poached Apple Slices

Instructions
- Combine the sugar, water and dash of salt.
- Simmer 5 minutes. Meanwhile, core the apples and cut in 1/2-inch slices. Leave bright peel on. Drop into sugar syrup and cook gently until tender. Remove from heat.
- Let apple slices cool in syrup to plump. Drain. Use as trim.
