Brandy Slush Recipe
Ingredients
Instructions
- Boil 7 c. water and 2 c. sugar for 10 min.
- Cold.
- Boil 2 c. water; add in 4 tea bags; stir up for 20 min; cold.
- Add in juices to sugar, water and tea.
- Add in 2 c. brandy and freeze 6 - 8 hrs.
- To serve, place several scoops in a glass and fill rest with 50/50 or possibly Fresca.
- NOTES : Hattie Preston was a family friend; she worked with and later lived upstairs from Aunt Virgy.
- One of my first memories of her was when she came to a party with a large ice cream bucket filled with Brandy Slush.
- It is a great recipe for parties.
- People love it; it is easy to serve.
- I always had a bucket of slush in the freezer in my early entertaining days.

- Since her only daughter lived in California, she had an open invitation to our gatherings.

- I think the saddest memory of her was when she had her stroke and was no longer able to do her crafts.

- Her gifts were always clever.
- For example, one year she gave my husband, Mr. Thrifty, a can crusher.
- The memory of Hattie still lives on-with her crafts and with her recipes.
