Ingredients

  • 3 or 4 lb. ham
  • 8 to 10 medium potatoes
  • 1 lb. fresh string beans

Instructions

  1. Cover ham with water.
  2. Bring to a boil, turn down, simmer for 1 hour.
  3. Remove meat.
  4. Add beans and potatoes.
  5. Cut meat into bite-size pieces and return to broth.
  6. When beans and potatoes are cooked, soup is done, about 1 hour.
