Coconut Simple Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3/4 cup sweetened flaked coconut

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 1/2 cups water and the sugar in a saucepan, and bring to a boil.
  2. Stir in the coconut, remove from the heat, and let sit for at least 30 minutes and up to 4 hours.
  3. Strain the liquid into a clean saucepan.
  4. Bring to a boil and cook until the mixture is slightly reduced, about 5 minutes.
  5. Let cool.
