Custard Halwa

Ingredients

  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons heaped custard powder
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • cashew nuts (to garnish)

Instructions

  1. Mix custard powder in half cup cold milk (boiled and cooled milk).
  2. Heat remaining milk with sugar in a heavy bottomed vessel.
  3. Once sugar melts and milk comes to a boil, reduce heat.
  4. Pour dissolved custard mixture.
  5. Stir well so that no lumps remain.
  6. Cook till it becomes slightly transparent and shiny.
  7. When it sticks to the vessel, add ghee.
  8. Remove from heat when halwa consistency is reached.
  9. Decorate with chopped cashewnuts.
