Figs In Syrup

Instructions
- Rinse the figs.
- Bring a pot of water to boil, add the figs and soak for about 5 minutes.
- Drain well.
- Place 200 ml of water, sugar, lemon peel and cinnamon stick in a pot and bring to a boil.
- Boil until sugar dissolves and a light syrup forms.
- Add the whole figs to the syrup and boil 30 minutes over medium heat. Let cool, then remove the lemon peel and cinnamon stick. Pour syrup into sterilized jars.
- Store in refrigerator.
