Ingredients

  • 6 c. Concord grape pulp
  • 7 1/2 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Using real ripe grapes, wash and remove stems.
  2. Place grapes in a large kettle with enough water to cover the bottom of the pan only. The kettle can be pretty full of grapes.
  3. Cook over medium heat until the skins pop open.
  4. Run grapes, skins, and seeds through a sieve, crushing grapes and skins as much as possible.
  5. Stir in 1 box of Sure-Jell with pulp in the kettle.
  6. Bring to a full boil over high heat.
  7. Add sugar at once, bringing to a full boil again; stir constantly.
  8. Boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat.
  9. Skim off foam. Put hot mixture in jars or glasses and top with melted paraffin.
