Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons dry powder milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In an electric blender or food processor, put all ingredients. Process at high speed for 1 minute.
  2. Pour into a heavy saucepan and cook, stirring constantly for approximately 2 minutes or until mixture has thickened and is bubbly.
  3. Mixture foams up considerably but this recedes as it cooks.
  4. Return to blender and process for 1 minute at high speed.
  5. This last step is important to keep sour cream mix at a smooth consistency.
  6. May be used as regular sour cream in cooking.
