Mandarin Vinegar

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. white vinegar
  • peel from 6 medium sized mandarins, thinly sliced
  • 1 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Place vinegar, sugar and mandarin peel in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
  2. Cool and store in covered container.
  3. Use as you would for any recipe calling for vinegar.
  4. This mandarin vinegar adds zest to your recipes and also makes a delightful and unusual hostess gift.
  5. Yields 1 quart.
