Mountain Blackberry Jam

Ingredients

  • 2 qt. firm ripe blackberries
  • 8 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 pkg. pectin

Instructions

  1. Wash and grind berries or crush completely one layer at a time, so that each berry is reduced to pulp.
  2. Pour sugar into dry dish.
  3. Measure 6 cups berries into a large kettle.
  4. Add pectin. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  5. Add sugar.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Continue stirring and bring to a full rolling boil.
  8. Boil for 4 minutes. Pour into prepared jars and seal.
