Ingredients

  • 4 qt. popped corn (2/3 c. unpopped)
  • 1 c. peanuts
  • 1 c. light molasses
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Combine popcorn and peanuts in large bowl or pan.
  2. In 2-quart saucepan, combine molasses, sugar and salt; cook over medium heat to hard ball stage (260°).
  3. Pour syrup slowly over popped corn and nuts, stirring until mixture is well coated.
  4. Press into 5-ounce cold drink cups.
  5. Insert a wooden skewer in each and let cool. Push up bottoms of cup to remove.
  6. Makes 16.
