Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest, grated fine
  • lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and cool the syrup completely.
  4. Mix the cooled syrup with fresh lemon juice and grated lemon zest.
  5. Add 8 cups of water to the mixture and stir well.
  6. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint, then serve over ice.
