Boiled Pecans

Instructions
- Bring 6 cups of water to a boil in a large saucepan.
- Add pecan halves; return to boil for 1 minute.
- Drain in a colander and rinse under very hot tap water.
- Shake to remove excess water.
- Place pecans in a large bowl.
- Add 1/2 cup of sugar and stir well until sugar is dissolved.
- Fry pecans in deep fat at 425°F (220°C) for 5 minutes.
- Remove pecans from oil and drain.
- Place pecans on brown paper and sprinkle with salt while hot.
- Store in an airtight container.
