- In a measuring cup, put shortening and add enough water to make 2 cups.
- Add two more cups warm water.
- To this, add sugar, salt and crumbled yeast.
- Mix well.
- Add flour until it doesn't stick to fingers.
- Grease all over with butter and put in large pan to double in bulk (about 45 minutes).
