Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar (white)
  • 1/4 c. white corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. butter (not margarine)
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Place sugar, corn syrup and water in 2-quart saucepan.
  2. Cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Insert candy thermometer and cook without stirring to 265°.
  4. Add butter (be sure not to use margarine) and continue cooking to 290°.
  5. Remove from heat and add vanilla.
  6. Drop by small teaspoonfuls onto greased (butter is best) cookie sheet (make cookies about the size of a quarter).
  7. When cool, remove from pan and store in airtight container.
