Charcoaled Corned Beef

Ingredients

  • 1 "flat" beef brisket
  • garlic wine vinegar
  • garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Spoon vinegar over brisket.
  2. Place in a shallow pan.
  3. Sprinkle brisket with garlic powder, salt and pepper on all sides. Marinate at room temperature for several hours, turning occasionally (example:
  4. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
  5. Cook on charcoal grill with top closed for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or use thermometer to register rare.
  6. Do not overcook!
  7. Cool at room temperature, then refrigerate.
  8. Return to butcher to have thinly sliced.
  9. Serve with party rye and hot mustard.
