Ingredients

  • 1 (No. 2) can cherry pie filling
  • 4 to 5 cups peeled, cored, and sliced apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Minute tapioca
  • 1 yellow or white cake mix

Instructions

  1. Spread peeled, cored, and sliced apples evenly into a 9 x 13-inch sprayed pan.
  2. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon evenly over the apples.
  3. Pour cherry pie filling over the apples and cinnamon mixture.
  4. Prepare yellow or white cake mix according to package instructions.
  5. Pour the prepared cake batter over the cherry and apple layer.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 45 minutes or until the cake is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before inverting onto a serving platter to reveal the cherry and apple topping.
