Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. light cream
  • 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped candied cherries
  • few drops cherry flavoring

Instructions

  1. Butter the sides of a heavy, 2-quart saucepan.
  2. In pan, combine sugar, water, cream and corn syrup.
  3. Cook over medium-high heat to boiling, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to dissolve sugar.
  4. This should take 5 to 6 minutes.
  5. Avoid splashing mixture on sides of pan.
