Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Bisquick
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine Bisquick and cinnamon.
  2. In a 1-quart saucepan, heat water and 1 tablespoon sugar to boiling.
  3. Add the boiling water mixture to the Bisquick mixture and stir vigorously until dough forms a ball.
  4. Remove from heat and beat in the egg until smooth.
  5. Transfer the dough into a pastry bag fitted with a star tip.
  6. Pipe 5-inch strips into a hot skillet with 1 inch of vegetable oil.
  7. Cook until golden brown on all sides, turning to coat evenly.
  8. While still hot, roll the churros in extra sugar.
  9. Serve warm.
