Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 6 to 6 1/2 c. all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Stir in sugar, salt, eggs and oil.
  3. Add 3 cups of flour.
  4. Beat until smooth.
  5. Mix enough flour to make dough easy to handle.
  6. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.
  7. Knead until smooth about 8 to 10 minutes.
  8. Place in greased bowl.
  9. Turn greased side up.
  10. Cover and let rise in warm place about 1 hour.
  11. Punch down; cut in half.
  12. Roll each half into 1 x 8 x 9-inch rectangle.
  13. Roll dough from 9-inch side.
  14. Place into two 9 x 5 x 3-inch pans.
  15. Brush with oil.
  16. Let rise until about double (about 1 hour).
  17. Heat oven to 375°.
  18. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
  19. Test for doneness by tapping top to sound hollow.
  20. Remove from pans.
