Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Gradually add milk, stirring to make a soft dough.
