Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. plus 4 Tbsp. shortening
  • 7 to 8 Tbsp. cold water

Instructions

  1. Mix together flour and salt.
  2. Use pastry blender to cut in shortening until pastry looks like coarse meal.
  3. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons at a time of cold water over mixture.
  4. Stir with a fork until the dough follows the fork around the bowl.
  5. Divide in half and chill.
  6. Bake at 425° for 12 to 15 minutes.
