Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Add shortening, salt, sugar and egg (beaten lightly).
  3. Add 1/2 of flour.
  4. Beat 2 minutes.
  5. Add rest of flour; blend until smooth.
  6. Cover.
  7. Let rise at room temperature until double in size.
