Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. lukewarm water
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 5 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 c. sweet milk
  • 1/3 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Put milk, Crisco and sugar in pan; warm it up enough to melt Crisco; set aside to cool.
  2. Dissolve yeast in the 1/2 cup warm water.
  3. Sift flour.
  4. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and cover with a wet cloth.
  5. Let rise and then put in the refrigerator.
  6. When ready to use, roll out, cut with biscuit cutter.
  7. Dip in melted butter, fold over in half.
  8. Press edges in place in order to hold together.
  9. Let rise again before baking at least 1 hour.
  10. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until brown.
