Grandma'S White Bread

Instructions
- Pour boiling water over lard, sugar and salt.
- Use large bowl. Stir until dissolved.
- Add 1 cup cold water and let mixture cool to lukewarm.
- Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water.
- Add to other liquid.
- Add flour.
- Mix well.
- Let rise to double bulk; knock down and let rise again.
- Knock down and knead well.
- Put in greased and floured bread pans and let rise again.
- Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
- To keep crust soft, coat with butter while still warm from oven.
