Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes
  • melted shortening
  • 3/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and pare 2 medium potatoes.
  2. Cut the potatoes crosswise into 1/8-inch slices.
  3. Brush a broiler rack with a little melted shortening and arrange the potato slices on the rack.
  4. Brush the tops of the slices with more melted shortening and sprinkle with 3/4 teaspoon salt.
  5. Broil until tender and golden, about 6 to 10 minutes.
