Individual Apple Butter

Ingredients

  • 5 small apples
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Peel apples
  2. Core apples
  3. Slice and dice apples
  4. Place in bottom of slow cooker Apple chunks
  5. Spread apples even
  6. In a bowl mix sugars, cinnamon, allspice, ground cloves, salt
  7. Mix well
  8. Spread the sugar mixture over the apples
  9. Drizzle water over the apples, just enough to moisten
  10. Stir well together and spread even again
  11. Cook on high for 1 hour
  12. Stir and spread even
  13. Cook on low 9 to 11 hours
  14. Stir frequently, spreading even after stirring while it's cooking ( I did 2 times an hour)
  15. Now, add just enough water only as needed while cooking to prevent burning
  16. Mash mixture when it looks like applesauce
  17. Cook on low 1 hour
  18. Spoon mixture in a blender
  19. Puree Apple mixture, lightly drizzling water as needed to make it into butter
  20. Put in container, refrigerate
