Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. flour (can use half each regular and cake)
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cream together very well the butter and sugar for 5 minutes. Should resemble whipped cream. Add flour and salt.
  2. Dough should work up into a ball, cleaning the sides of the bowl. Press out on nonstick cookie sheet to 1/4 to 1/2-inch thick. Run knife completely through dough as if to cut it in squares.
  3. Pick, if desired, and sprinkle sugar, if desired.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes at 300°.
  5. Cool, then cut following lines made before.
