Limpa Rye Bread

Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in the warm water.
- Stir in molasses, sugar, salt, shortening and rye flour and beat till smooth.
- Mix in enough white flour to make dough easy to handle.
- Knead dough about 10 minutes.
- Place in greased bowl.
- Cover; let rise till double, about 1 1/2 hours.
- Punch dough down and let rise again. Divide into 3 parts.
- Shape into round slightly flat loaf.
- Let rise till almost double, about 1 hour.
- Brush loaves with slightly beaten egg before putting in oven.
- Makes 3 loaves.
- Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
