Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup evaporated skim milk
  • 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

Instructions

  1. Scald the evaporated skim milk.
  2. Cool slightly.
  3. Soften gelatin in cold water.
  4. Stir gelatin into warm milk and stir until dissolved. Pour milk into small, deep bowl.
  5. Freeze until ice crystals form around edges and mixture is completely jellied.
  6. Whip at high speed of mixer until peaks form.
  7. Gradually add sugar and vanilla. Beat until stiff peaks form.
