Ingredients

  • 1 c. warm milk
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in warm water
  • flour

Instructions

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients and mix well.
  2. Add dissolved yeast.
  3. Now, gradually add flour to mixture.
  4. Cover with a cloth and let rise in a warm place until dough doubles in size (2 hours).
  5. Punch down and shape into rolls.
  6. Let rolls rise until doubled (about 30 minutes).
  7. Bake 20 minutes in a preheated 400° oven.
  8. Brush tops with butter and serve hot.
