Oranges In Red Wine

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar (more if you like it sweeter)
  • 1 c. water
  • 3/4 to 1 c. dry red wine
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 slices lemon
  • 6 oranges, peeled and sectioned
  • 1 stick cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Dissolve sugar in water in saucepan.
  2. Add rest of ingredients, except orange sections, and boil until slightly syrupy, about 20 minutes.
  3. Strain into serving bowl and cool slightly.
  4. Add oranges.
  5. Refrigerate until very cold.
