Ingredients

  • 5 lbs flour
  • 34 ounce yeast (3 PACKAGES)
  • 1 12 cups warm water
  • 5 cups warm water
  • 14 cup sugar
  • 1 12 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Mix salt and flour together
  2. mix 1 1/2 c warm water with yeast and sugar, let sit 5-6 minutes or until it begins to rise.
  3. pour yeast mixture into flour and knead together until smooth (about 15 minutes) adding the additional 5 c water and oil as needed.
  4. dough should be smooth like silk with no rough lumps.
  5. let rise in a warm spot until size of dough has doubled.
  6. punch down dough and divide into 6 loaves let rise one more time.
  7. bake at 400 for 20-22 minutes.
  8. bread is done when it is golden brown and sounds hollow when thumped.
