Ingredients

  • 1 lb dried prunes
  • 1/2 lemon or 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a 2-quart saucepan, combine prunes and lemon juice or lemon slices.
  2. Cover with enough cold water and bring to a boil.
  3. Turn heat down and simmer for about 40 minutes.
  4. Add more water and sugar to taste, if desired.
