Swirled Apple Rings

- Heat oven to 350°.
- Melt margarine in a 13 x 9 x 12-inch baking pan (no glass pans).
- In a saucepan, heat sugar and water until sugar dissolves.
- Set aside.
- Cut Crisco into flour until crumbly.
- Add mix and stir until dough leaves the sides of the bowl.
- Turn out onto a floured board and knead until just smooth. Roll into a rectangle (3/16-inch thick).
- Mix cinnamon and apples together.
- Spread evenly onto dough.
- Roll up like a jelly roll. Slice into 18 slices.
- Place in baking pan on melted butter.
- Pour sugar water slowly over apples.
- Bake 50 minutes.
- This will look like too much liquid, but crust will absorb it.
- Serve with ice cream.
