Ingredients

  • 12 to 14 cooking apples, chopped
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Core and chop the apples.
  2. Combine the chopped apples and apple cider in a slow cooker.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours until the apples are mushy.
  4. Puree the cooked apple mixture in a food mill or sieve.
  5. Return the pureed mixture to the slow cooker.
  6. Add the sugar, cinnamon, and ground cloves to the puree.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 1 hour.
  8. Pour into hot jars and seal or store in the refrigerator, or freeze in containers.
