Traditional Apple Butter

Instructions
- Core and chop the apples.
- Combine the chopped apples and apple cider in a slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours until the apples are mushy.
- Puree the cooked apple mixture in a food mill or sieve.
- Return the pureed mixture to the slow cooker.
- Add the sugar, cinnamon, and ground cloves to the puree.
- Cover and cook on low for 1 hour.
- Pour into hot jars and seal or store in the refrigerator, or freeze in containers.
