Ingredients

  • 4 turnips (roots)
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. sliced salt pork

Instructions

  1. Slice turnips 1/4-inch thick.
  2. Combine turnips, water, salt, pepper, sugar and salt pork in a heavy pot.
  3. Cover and cook on high heat for 5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to medium low and cook for thirty minutes or until tender.
