  1. Slice the potatoes thinly.
  2. Add 1/8 cup of olive oil to a heated nonstick frying pan.
  3. Add crushed garlic and the sliced potatoes to the pan.
  4. Ensure the oil covers the potatoes adequately.
  5. Fry the potatoes until lightly browned on both sides.
  6. Remove the potatoes from the pan and let them cool completely.
  7. Reheat the pan, add an additional 1/8 cup of oil, and cook the potatoes again on both sides until nicely browned and tender.
  8. Sprinkle with salt to taste and serve.
