Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 to 4 cups flour
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Put yeast, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Dissolve with 1 cup hot water and let stand for 5 minutes.
  3. Add oil and gradually mix in flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until well incorporated.
  4. Knead dough until smooth.
  5. Place dough in a clean bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise until doubled in size.
  6. Knead the dough again, shape into loaves.
  7. Bake at 425°F for 5 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F and bake for an additional 35 minutes.
