Ingredients

  • 4 sticks kanten (agar-agar)
  • 5 cups water
  • 4 1/2 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Rinse kanten (agar-agar) and soak in 5 cups of water for 5 minutes.
  2. Cook the kanten mixture until it starts to boil.
  3. Add sugar and continue cooking for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Add the 'An' (sweet bean paste), mixing well.
  5. Continue cooking for 4 to 5 minutes.
  6. Pour the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch container.
  7. Cool and refrigerate until firm.
  8. Cut into desired shapes and serve.
