100 Year Old Cookie

Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. lard
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 scant tsp. soda
  • water
  • 3 c. flour

Instructions

  1. Cream together sugar and lard.
  2. Add eggs and beat hard.
  3. Place soda in a cup and add a mite of water until it foams up.
  4. Sift flour and add to mixture.
  5. Mix smoothly and swiftly, then neatly roll out on a board.
  6. If too soft, add a little flour.
  7. Cut out and bake in a hot oven.
