Ingredients

  • 1 angel food cake, already baked
  • 1 quart sherbet, frozen yogurt, or ice cream of choice

Instructions

  1. Cut the top off the cake, making it thin.
  2. Hollow out the cake by slicing around the edge to create a reservoir.
  3. Fill the hollow with softened sherbet, ice cream, or frozen yogurt of choice.
  4. Place the top back on the cake.
  5. Ice the cake with Cool Whip or whipped topping.
  6. Place the dessert in the freezer until ready to serve.
  7. Slice and serve when frozen.
  8. This dessert can be made ahead and freezes well.
  9. Serve attractively on a plate.
  10. Use the filling to coordinate with punch for parties.
