Ingredients

  • 2 cans apple pie filling
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 small jar maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Butter a large casserole dish.
  3. Dump both cans of apple pie filling into the dish and spread evenly across the bottom.
  4. Sprinkle the dry white cake mix evenly over the apple filling.
  5. Cut the 2 sticks of butter into 1/4-inch pads and place them evenly on top of the dry cake mix.
  6. Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  7. Just as the butter starts to melt, add the maraschino cherries (including juice if desired) on top of the cake.
