Ingredients

  • 8 oranges
  • 5 lb apples, cored and chopped fine
  • 4 lb sugar

Instructions

  1. Peel oranges, remove white membrane, and boil rinds until tender in water to cover.
  2. Let the rinds cool, then grind and chop them fine.
  3. Divide the peeled oranges into sections, then combine with the chopped apples.
  4. Add water to barely cover the mixture.
  5. Cook over low heat for half an hour.
  6. Add sugar and orange rind to the mixture.
  7. Boil until the marmalade is thickened.
  8. Pour the hot marmalade into sterilized jelly glasses.
  9. When cool, seal the glasses with paraffin wax.
