Baked Beets Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beets About 3/4 c. water Salt and freshly grnd black pepper to taste Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Instructions

  1. Scrub the beets, but don't peel.
  2. Trim the greens, if still attached, but leave at least 1 inch of the stem still attached.
  3. (Otherwise the juices will leach out and stain whatever they contact.)
  4. Place beets and water in baking dish, cover tightly and bake till cooked through, about 30 min for a medium beet.
