Ingredients

  • 2 cans water chestnuts (whole)
  • 1/2 lb. bacon (raw)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup

Instructions

  1. Wrap each water chestnut with half a strip of raw bacon.
  2. Secure the bacon with a toothpick.
  3. Place the wrapped chestnuts on a broiler tray.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes or until the bacon is crisp.
  5. While baking, mix sugar and ketchup in a small bowl to make the glaze.
  6. Remove the wrapped chestnuts from the oven and transfer them to a baking dish.
  7. Pour the ketchup mixture over the chestnuts.
  8. Bake for an additional 20 minutes at 350°F.
  9. Serve hot.
