- Cream shortening and sugar.
- Add egg yolks.
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add alternately with milk to first mixture.
- Add vanilla.
- Beat egg whites stiff.
- Add to batter. Bake at 375° 25 minutes in 8-inch square pan.
