Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Put 1 1/2 c. flour and yeast in blender container.
  2. Switch on and off to mix.
  3. Heat lowfat milk, shortening, sugar, and salt till shortening melts.
  4. Add in to dry mix.
  5. Blend on low a few seconds.
  6. Add in egg.
  7. Blend on low till combined.
  8. Blend on high till smooth.
  9. 4 to 5 seconds.
  10. Pour into bowl.
  11. Add in rest of flour to make stiff dough.
  12. Cover.
  13. Let rise till double, about 45 min.
  14. Punch down.
  15. Turn onto floured surface.
  16. Let rest 10 min.
  17. Shape loaf.
  18. Put into greased 9 x 5 x 3 pan.
  19. Cover, let rise till double.
  20. Bake 375 degrees for 40 to 45 min.
